In 2014, I was filled with excitement. After completing my training in homeopathy, I was eager to begin offering consultations. The first thing that came to mind was to create a website and start practicing telehealth.
Homeopathy is uniquely suited for telehealth. Unlike many other medical disciplines, it doesn’t rely heavily on laboratory tests or imaging. Instead, it focuses on a deep understanding of the patient’s symptoms and individual characteristics—what they feel, how they express themselves, and the subtle signs visible in their appearance, such as the face, tongue, nails, skin, and even hair. While certain physical cues like smell may be helpful, they are not essential for accurate case-taking.
A Practice Rooted in History
This approach isn’t new. In fact, Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy, was conducting follow-ups by mail in the 19th century. Yes, you read that correctly—by letter! He relied on the patient's written descriptions to guide treatment. What we now call "remote care" has always had a place in homeopathy.
From Unconventional to Mainstream
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, many people questioned whether seeing patients via phone or video call could be effective. But during the pandemic, even hospitals quickly adopted telehealth services. It became the new normal.
I’ve been offering virtual consultations since 2014—primarily for patients who live far away. Today, it’s the main way I work. I feel free from geographical limitations. Thanks to video calls, I can still see the patient’s expressions and gestures and ask in-depth questions. It’s not difficult to come to a clear understanding, even from a distance.
Comfortable for Patients, Convenient for Practitioners
Patients appreciate being in their own space, where they feel safe and relaxed. I, too, feel at ease during these sessions. Even if we are thousands of miles apart, there is a real connection. And now, people from all around the world can reach out to the homeopath they truly trust and resonate with.
Moving Forward with Purpose
Technology continues to evolve, and life moves with it. Whether we accept it or not, change is constant. Instead of resisting, we can choose to understand, adapt, and use these tools for the greater good. For me, telehealth is not just a convenience—it’s an empowering way to make healing accessible to all.
